CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Eunice A. (Palmer) Booth, 94, formerly of Oakville, Conn., died peacefully with her family at her side on March 25, 2011, at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home.
Mrs. Booth was born on June 24, 1916, in Watertown, Conn., one of seven children and the daughter of the late Augustine and Eva Palmer. Married to Carl S. Booth in 1935, she raised her four children in Oakville where she was a member of Union Congregational Church for 75 years.
She leaves her two daughters, Marion Montgomery of Charlotte, N.C., and Elizabeth Paige and her husband, Bill, of Oakville; two sons, John R. Booth and his wife, Bernice, of Aburndale, Fla., and Carl S. Booth Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Bethlehem; 13 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Eunice was a former employee of Miller & Peck of Waterbury. She was a skilled seamstress and loved to crochet and knit a variety of beautiful things for her family, friends, and to show at the yearly Bethlehem Fair, where she routinely won blue ribbons. However, her pride, joy and dedication was raising her children and being involved in the lives of her large family.
She moved to Charlotte, N.C., in 1997, where she made many friends and formed a special bond with her granddaughter, Kim Freeman and her family, who made her a part of their lives and watched over her care in her later years.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. Burial will be in New North Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude St., Memphis TN 38105.
