Muriel Luella Palmer (daughter of Leon William Palmer and Sarah Emily Marcy) was born 14 Jul 1913 in Sayre, Pa., and died 15 Jan 2008 in Ephrata, Pa. Nursing Home. She married Carl Hurt Barns on 13 Apr 1945 in Baltimore, Md., son of William Alexander Barns and Lenora Boyd.

Muriel was raised in Sayre, Pa. Was a Telephone operator in Elmira, N.Y. She moved to Middle River, Md. for a job in Glenn L. Martin Co. in Production Control. Met Carl in Baltimore, Md. while he was on leave from the Army at Ft Meade, Md. Carl worked for an electric company in Baltimore for a while. Moved to Essex, Md. Carl was hired by PP&L in Allentown, Pa.
So they moved to Allentown. They built a cabin in the Pocono Mts. in Pa. and retired there. When Carl died Muriel lived alone in the cabin for 20 years. At age 89 she moved to the Ephrata Manor in Ephrata, Pa. Robert Martin, executor of her estate who lived in Denver, Pa.. Died peacefully in her sleep at age 94.
