Brunies Palmer Baisley, age 77, 409 E. Mt. Vernon Street, Somerset, died Friday, May 11, 1990, at her residence following a six-week illness.

She was born in Midland City, Alabama, September 9, 1913, the daughter of the late Jesse Julius Palmer and Cara Leona Curry. She was a homemaker, co-owner of Baisley Hardware, a member of Somerset Garden Club, active civic leader, supervisor of National Youth Administration, and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Leanne Jane Heath, Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Jesse J. Palmer, Dothan, Alabama, Rex G. Palmer and Elmo Palmer, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; five sisters, Pauline McKinney and Jeanette Daughtry, both of Dothan, Alabama, Annice Casey, Slocomb, Alabama, Margaret Guerard, Marion, Alabama, and Clara Hacker, Somerset; and two grandchildren, Ellis Beaumont Heath, New Your, and Clifton Curry Heath, Fort Hood, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellis Lloyd Baisley, whom she married in Somerset in 1937; and two brothers, Curry Palmer and Julius Palmer.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 14, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jackson Brewer, Rev. Ralph Wesley and Rev. Tommy Adams officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the Somerset-Pulaski County Community Hospice.
