Mrs. Lucy Jane Evans, 86, of the Duncan Nursing home, 1625 East Edwards street, died at 7:45 a.m. yesterday at the home.
She was born March 7, 1858 in Illinois and had lived in Springfield 48 years.
She was a member of the Christian church.
Surviving Mrs. Evans are two sons, Barlow F. Palmer, of Sullivan; and Wilford Palmer, of Regina, Canada; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Miller, of Williamsville; Mrs. Margaret Hustion and Mrs. Grace Prehody, both of California; and a brother, Ira Higgins, of Olmsted.
Remains were removed to the Vancil funeral home where funeral service were held.
Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
