Elaine Palmer Moyes, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013.

She was born August 15, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to LaVon C. and Thelma Slater Palmer. She was raised and educated in Weber County.

On December 23, 1942, Elaine married Vernal H. Moyes in Plain City, Utah. They owned and operated a family farm in Plain City where they raised five children, Craig, Lynn, Drew, Holly, and Gene.

Elaine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Plain City 6th Ward, and enjoyed serving as a Primary President and in the Relief Society.

She made dozens of beautiful quilts and afghans for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Elaine and Vernal enjoyed spending 20 winters in St. George where they created many lasting friendships.

She was a member of the Plain City "Club" for over 70 years.

Elaine is survived by her children, Craig Moyes, West Jordan; Lynn (Kay) Moyes, Plain City; Drew (Barbara) Moyes, Plain City; Holly M. Young, Nephi; Gene (Nancie) Moyes, Plain City; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Anna Mae Fowers, and a grandson, Michael James Moyes. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7th at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 6th Ward Chapel, 2235 North 4350 West.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
