Isebelle Page Burden, 93, of The Hermitage in Richmond, passed away Friday, November 5, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on November 20, 1910 in Blackstone, Virginia, a daughter of the late Jacob N. Page and Mary Ann Page. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Burden; and son, G. Warren Burden.
She was a 1933 graduate of Mary Washington College. Her lengthy teaching career included Tazewell, Roanoke, and Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Jamestown Society, the Virginia Genealogical Society and the Bermuda Hundred Chapter of DAR.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Page Cosby, and son-in-law, Frank A. Cosby of New Castle; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Burden of Richmond; four grandchildren, Bryan Burden of Richmond, Michael Cosby of Machipongo, Amy Michele Pocklington of Richmond, and Amy Sue Rodrigues of Fredericksburg; and two great-grandchidren, Anthony and Arcadia Rodrigues; a sister-in-law, Florence Dellinger of Danielsville, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 8, at
2 p .m. in the Chapel Mausoleum at Westhampton Memorial Park with Dr. John Peters officiating. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23229.
