Company H "Mountain Tigers" of Harris County, 31st Georgia Infantry, Evans' Brigade, Gordon's Division, 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Harris County GA.
Enlisted on 11/13/1861, he was mustered into "H" Co. GA 27th Infantry as a Private.
Appointed 1st Sergt in 1862.
Elected Jr. 2nd Lieut 8/15/1863.
Killed In Action in Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA.

The 31st Infantry Regiment [also called 27th Regiment], "Bartow Guards", completed its organization in November, 1861, at Cusseta, Georgia. Its companies were from the counties of Muscogee, Chattahoochee, Monroe, Bartow, Pulaski, Dawson, and Newton.
It was heavily engaged in the series of battles at The Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House.
