Alphene Paden Richter, 98, of Dayton died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Liberty County.

She was born August 18, 1914 in Clintonville, Pennsylvania to parents, Raymond Paden and Nancy DeWoody Paden. Mrs Richter graduated from Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in Beaumont in 1935. She met and married Dr E R Richter in 1936. Mrs Richter was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church where she will always be remembered through her gift of the Richter Family Hand-Bells. She was the first School Nurse for Dayton Schools, a member of the Women's Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liberty County Medical Association and Order of The Eastern Star. She was past Advisor for the Rainbow Girls.

Services for Mrs Richter will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton with Rev Jan Stouffer officiating.

Mrs Richter was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, her daughter, Margel A Richter Monahan, her grandson, Roland Scott Roberts and all but one of her siblings.

She is survived by her son, E R " Sonny " Richter, Jr and his wife, Tish of Dayton; her grandchildren, Robyn Richter Kline and husband Allyn of Dayton, E R " Bubba " Richter III and wife Nancy if Dayton, Ernest Richter " Rusty " Roberts of Austin, Krusti Roberts Schurpbach and husband Ken of San Antonio; great grandsons, Roland Scott Roberts, Chris Conner, Hunter Richter, Jack Samuel Schuepbach and Matt Kline and wife Megan; also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P O Box 505, Dayton, Texas 77535. The Dayton Volunteer. Fire Department, or the Charity of your choice. Condolences for the family may be made at www.pacestancil.com.
