Patricia L. Armocida
Patricia L. 'Patty' (Packard) Carmichael Armocida, 50, of Altoona, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at ARHS Altoona Hospital Campus.
She was born July 15, 1959 in Bethlehem, PA, the daughter of the late LeRoy A., Sr. and Patricia L. (Price) Packard. Patty married Paul F. Armocida on April 21, 2007 in Altoona. She was previously married to John L. Carmichael.
Patty was a former corrections officer with the Blair County Prison, retired as a Dorm Mother from Penn State University and was currently employed as a tax preparer for Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service. She was a 1977 graduate of Altoona Area High School. Patty also attended Pruonto's School of Cosmotology and Jackson-Hewitt Tax School.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping and loved dogs. Patty especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, children, Aubri Hazlett and husband Lenny of Hartville, OH, and Brady Carmichael and fiancée Irene Quinn of Altoona, sisters, Linda Packard Walker and Lauren Matteo of Harrisburg, brother, LeRoy A. "Butch" Packard, Jr. and wife Sue of Altoona, 3 nieces, 4 nephews and 1 great nephew.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 and from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Brinton Shafer officiating.
