|Birth: ||1826, USA|
|Death: ||Apr. 16, 1880|
New York, USA
Also known as Christine Scofield. An alternate surname spelling is Schofield. She was born approximately 1826 according to the 1840 and 1850 Censuses, probably in the Town of Goshen, Orange, NY. She was baptized 19 Jun 1833 at the First Presbyterian Church in the Village of Goshen.
She became Horace Denton Paret's second wife on 29 Aug 1858. By the time of her death, she and Horace seem to have separated. They are listed in the 1870 Census as living in separate residences in Middletown. Her will, written several years before her death, provides only for the care of her surviving children, Margaret and Julia (only two of the six that she is known to have born). Horace's name is not mentioned. She died at daughter Margaret's house in Port Jervis, Orange, New York of consumption (tuberculosis). Horace was also sick with TB at the same time and died later that same year. She is thought to occupy one of the four unmarked graves in Horace's lot.
