LETITIA IRENE CAMPBELL
Letitia Irene Dixson Campbell, 91 of Edina, died Tuesday evening, May 23, 1995 at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 15, 1903 in Trenton, a daughter of Zoral Earnest and Dora Elizabeth (Proverse) Overstreet. She married Roy Martin Dixson on June 5, 1924. He died Jan. 9, 1940. She married Ellis Cambell on Oct. 28, 1950, and he survives.
Mrs. Campbell was raised and graduated from high school in Trenton. For a few years, she taught in a rural school. She and her family lived in the La Belle area for a number of years before moving to Edina in 1940. She and her husband farmed near Edina all their married life.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a 4-H leader in Knox County for nearly 30 years.
Survivors also include four sons, Donald Dixson of Quincy, Illinois, Lawrence Dixson of Hurdland, Gail Dixson of Edina, and Dale Dixson of Novelty; a daughter, Mrs. Sterling (Dorothy) Johnson of Clayton, Illinois; two step-sons, Ronnie Campbell of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Eldon Campbell of Edina; a step-daughter, Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Phillips of Princeton; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Juanita) Gilbert of Edina; a brother, Clinton Overstreet of Edina; 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 27, 1995 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hurdland, Missouri.
