Margaret Lee Barnes, 90, of Columbia passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Lenoir Healthcare.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Parker Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Columbia Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was born Dec. 19, 1914, in Glasgow to Hugh Warren and Lucy Jane Drake Overstreet.
Mrs. Barnes' life was devoted to her husband and family.
She loved to dance, play bingo and shoot pool. She read for enjoyment and also wrote, compiling journals and completing a book about her family.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a brother, Hugh W. Overstreet Jr.; two sons, Billy Barnes and wife Billie and Tony Barnes and wife Kathleen; two daughters, Patsy J. Perkins and Marlene S. Regan and husband Frank; daughter-in-law Wanda Barnes; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earl Vandorn Barnes. She was also preceded in death by husband Armin Nielson; a son, Hugh Lee Barnes; and son-in-law Willis A. Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to VFW Post 280.
