Ida J. Alexander (formerly Kelly) entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, June 19, 2005, surrounded by her family at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. She was born January 7, 1932 in Fulton County Indiana to Benjamin and Edith Overmyer.
Ida moved to the Aurora-Elgin area over 50 years ago and worked for Western Electric/AT&T (of Montgomery), where she retired after many years.
Ida's surviving family members include four daughters, Edie (Paul) Smith of Montgomery, Laura (Randy) Williams of Leland, Angie (Glenn) Harrington of Belvidere, and Therisa Smith of Aurora; three step-children, Rita Robothman and Kenny and Wayne Alexander, all of Elgin; ten grandchildren, Terry Savage, Lisa Lara, Juli SMith, Alicia Jordal, David Alexander, Michael Robothman, Tim Bank, Cory Dodge, Danielle Harrington, Dennis Smith, Ryan Smith and Michelle Harrington; eight great-grandchildren, Jenna O'Malley Alexis Moland, Zac Savage, Shiann Eichelberger, Haiden Jordal, Mark Lara II, Avery Jordal and Madelyn Savage.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Frank Alexander; as well as her parents,; Two infant sons, Robert and Edwin Kelly; two infant great-grandchildren, Rilyn and Brooklyn Savage; a step-child, Larry Alexander; and several siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. The family will be receiving guests from 11:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday. Graveside services following at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fox Valley Dialysis.
