Mrs. Lavina Jane Over, wife of Mr. E. L. Over, of Monroe Township, one of the best known and most highly esteemed ladies of the southern portion of the county, was called from a life of wonderfully useful activity to the crowning of that life in the spirit life beyond, took her departure Monday evening, January 10, 1916, at half past five o'clock. Mrs. Over had a cold or attack of grippe, and pneumonia set in, and only a few days elapsed before her demise took place. Mrs. Lavina Jane Fox was born in Monroe Township about 68 years ago, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fox. She was united in marriage with E. L. Over about forty-six years ago, and they made their home in Monroe Township ever since. She is survived by her husband and children as follows: Arthur and Harry, at Reidsburg; Charles, near Mt. Zion in Licking Township; John, at home; Mrs. J. A. Fetzer, Reidsburg; Mrs. Emma Stewart, wife of Dr. Stewart, in the state of Arkansas; Mrs. A. C. Curran, Glassport, Pa. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren. Mrs. Over was a true and devoted Christian women known everywhere in the community for her tender loving heart and her kindly, neighborly helpfulness. Wherever there was trouble or sickness she was always promptly on hand, and she was so motherly and capable that she carried good cheer and help wherever she went. She was a devout member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and taught and lived her religion every day. Such a true life will be greatly missed in the home, the church and the community. The entire community will extend sympathy to the bereaved husband and family. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. J. A. Howe, of Callensburg, pastor of the deceased, and the interment will probably be at Mr. Zion, as soon as her daughter from the west arrives.
