Obituary: Mae Ovard Beckstead
In Loving Memory
1913 - 2005
Mae Ovard Beckstead, 91, died at the Holladay Health Care Center of natural causes on January 3, 2005.
Mae was born April 19, 1913, in American Fork, Utah to Lindsey and Orpha Ovard. She married Dean N. Beckstead on September 1, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions within the church. She volunteered for 18 years at the LDS Hospital and was on the committee that built the Heritage House in Murray, Utah.
She is preceded in death by husband, Dean N. Beckstead; brothers Joseph Ovard, Glen Ovard.
She is survived by her son, DeMont Beckstead and his wife Jolene, three grandchildren, five great-grand-children, and one great-great-grandson; sisters Fae Heaps and Beth Wride and brothers Wyaman Ovard and Jay Ovard.
Viewing will be held on Friday, January 7, 2005 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with Memorial Services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.). Interment South Jordan City Cemetery.
