Jewell was born September 1, 1922, in Conroe, to Johnny and Aneta Iwone Currier Outlaw. She has been a resident of Mexia for 46 years. She was a retired employee of the Mexia State School.
Jewell married Roscoe L. Darby on June 13, 1944. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
Jewell is survived by two sons, Donald Darby and wife, Jackie of Mexia and Billy Darby and wife, Dorothy of Wylie; one daughter, Shirley Gipson and husband, Ronald of Round Rock; grandchildren, Bobbie Morton and husband, Don of Mexia; Troy Darby and wife, Amanda of Mexia, Brian Gipson and wife, Paula of Colorado, Cody Darby and wife, Misty of Mexia, April Jagnow and husband, Dan of Austin, Jeffrey Gipson and wife, Katie of Austin and Tina Thornton and husband, Shannon of Wylie; and siblings, Charles Outlaw and wife, Jane of Cleveland, TX, Melvin Outlaw and wife, Gladys of Conroe and Evangeline Dees of Nacodoches.
