ROCHESTER Ida M. Caplette, 88, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice in Dover after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Caplette was born in Berwick, Maine, on Jan. 21, 1921, the daughter of Emile and Angelina (Bourgois) Ouellette and had been living in Rochester for most of her life, moving from Somersworth.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Somersworth Heel Co. in Somersworth. Ida was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Rochester and a member of the St. Ann Sodality at that church as well, a member of TOPS in Dover, and loved Bingo and reading.

She was the widow of Raoul "Roy" Caplette and was also predeceased by a son, Emile Caplette.

Surviving members of the family include two daughters, Jeannette Boucher of Rochester and Pauline LaPanne of Somersworth; two sons, Edward Caplette and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl R. Caplette, of Rochester and David J. Caplette of Gonic; two sisters, Irene Heon of Pascoad, R.I., and Nelda Wright of Buckner, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michelle Cammett, Lisa Braley, Raymond Caplette, Wayne Boucher, Rebecca Boucher, Sherri Broulotte, David G. Caplette and Amber Beams; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday at Holy Rosary Church in Rochester with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in the spring.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donation be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH. Published in Fosters from March 27 to March 28, 2009.
