Dorothy H. Harding Clapper, 96, of Orlando, FL and formerly of Erie, passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2011 in Orlando, FL. A resident of Erie until 2008, before moving to Orlando, she was born in Erie on March 1, 1915 a daughter of the late Helen Struchen Otteni and Edward Otteni, who was electrocuted while working for Penelec when she was 5. Her stepfather, Joseph Otteni, raised her.
Most recently she had lived at the Regency at South Shore in Erie. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crocheting, traveling, and family gatherings.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Harding; her second husband, John Clapper; her faithful companion, Harry Dorchester; one brother, Lloyd Otteni; and her step daughter, Janice Kulik.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Vogt and her husband Don and Jean French and her husband Burt, with whom she resided; two step sons, John Clapper II and Vito Kulik and his wife Janice; seven grandchildren, Linda Keener and her husband Gary, Lois Thompson and her husband Joseph, Lisa and her husband Edwin, Lora Thaler, Luanne Vogt, all of Erie, and Donna French of Orlando, and Susan Soderberg of West Palm Beach, FL; three step grandsons, Matthew, Mark, and Michael Kulik of New York; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
