"The exact date for George's death is not proven at this time. The estate papers of George have Joel Keisler appointed administrator of the estate December 8, 1865, indicating the death was some time in 1865. He was buried in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lexington County. Lexington County records show that Joseph Mims sold George Oswalt 425 acres of land for the sum of $100 bordered by George Oswalt, Joseph Mims and Elias Taylor. Date executed was January 9, 1841. This transaction was witnessed by Emanuel and Martin Oswalt and recorded Oct. 18, 1847. George then sold the same acreage to David Oswalt for $300 Feb. 26, 1842."
