Cole, Billie Lea, loving mother, grandmother and sister, retired AT&T communications technician and homemaker, died Sunday, July 28, 2002. Visitati on 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary; service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Wichita Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cole was born April 8, 1930 in Wichita, the daughter of the late Russell A. and Elva Ailene (VanPelt) Osborne.
On Sept. 3, 1948, she married Willard E. "Bus" Cole. That marriage lasted 53 wonderful years. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2001.
Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Dana Cole of Topeka; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joe Russell of Conway Springs; stepson and wife, Larry and Sherry Cole of Phillipsburg; brother and sister-in-law, George and Pat Osborne of West Plains, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Memorials established with American Heart Association, 2100 E. Douglas, Wichita 67214 and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita 67202-3805.
