Maxine Osborne Barron was born on September 15, 1917 in Chanute, Kansas to Edna and Lee Oborne, her father was a Chief Engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. He died at an early age and she and her mother moved to Wilmington, California. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1936 and married her sailor husband, Charles "Chuck" Barron, in 1935 in Los Angeles. Maxine and Chuck were very much in love, she always helped him and was always by his side whether actually present or there in spirit. She lived in Florida, Michigan, Texas, Ohio, New Jersey, Virginia, Panama, and Guam. Maxine helped Chuck through two of his careers, was a cryptologist for the Army in Los Angeles during World War II, managed several Western Union Offices, and even worked in a gun factory in Michigan.
After Chuck retired the second time, they RV'd for twenty-two years in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada and settled down in Roswell in 1972. She and Chuck had a nice home in Roswell and loved the town and it's people.
Maxine passed away Monday, January 28, 2008, at her home. She will join Chuck in his resting place in Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.
Maxine is survived by a second cousin, Patty Mitzger of Orland, CA and a host of friends.

Cremation was under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory.
