Funeral service for Mary Derohn Cooke, 85, of Emory, were held Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00pm.
Interment at Emory City Cemetery.
Derohn passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Emory. She was born on February 12, 1928 to Thomas Elias and Cora Pugh Osborn in Fort Worth. She married George Aaron Cooke on August 22, 1943; he preceded her in death in 1999. Known as Dee Dee by her family, she was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cooke is survived by her daughter: Diane McCarty and husband, Hubert, of Ector; son: Tommy Aaron Cooke and wife, Carla, of Emory; grandchildren: Staci Barker, Tonja McCoy, Chris Fletcher, Todd Cooke, and Randa Ramsey; great-grandchildren: Aaron, Tyson, Cannon, Ella, Dakota, Mackenzi, Makayla and Krista; great-great-granddaughters: Kaselyn and Skylar; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson: Shannon Cooke in 2000, and great-granddaughter: Kayla Cooke in 2007.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
