Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, IL , with the Dr. Roger Grimmett and Rev. Gene Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, in Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Friday, May 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. He was born January 31, 1920, in Murphy, NE, the son of Thure A. and Minnie (Anderson) Ortegren. He married Martha (Rasmussen) June 8, 1940 in Central City, NE. After attending Doane College in Crete NE, Ken became a Cabinet Maker and a Manager in the Lumber Industry .
He is survived by his wife: Martha Ortegren of Godfrey, IL, Son: Alan Ortegren & Bobbi, East Alton, IL, Daughter: Kay Spencer & Allan, Roxana, IL, Grandchildren: Marty & Shelly Spencer, Brian & Marissa Spencer, Sarah & Grant Chappel, Jason & Tabitha Ortegren, Marc Ortegren & Jenni Ortegren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
