Ernest Ormsby, 79, of El Monte, and formerly of Lodi, passed away January 26th, 2011. He was born August 5, 1931 in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Ormsby proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was stationed in Japan, the Philippines and served in the Korean War and then retired as a machinist.
Ernest is survived by his son, Edward Ormsby of El Monte; brothers, Rudy (Pearl) Ormsby and Conrad (Maria) Mendoza both of Tucson, Robert (Mary) Moreno of Thornton; sisters, Cecilia (Jose) Hernandez of Lodi, Edilia (Bob) Herrera of Thornton, and Olga Tanner of Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Rebecca Lerma Ormsby; mother, Ruth Quijano; and father, John Ormsby.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday, noon to 8 p.m. and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday.
