Beloved wife of the Late John Dall; loving mother of Dorothy Baumann; proud mother-in-law of Donald Baumann; loving sister of Frank and Warren Orlandi, Phyllis Coletti and Barbara Hewett; and the late Leslie and Lloyd Orlandi, Nilda Nash, Claire Henry, Lorene and Elvin Orlandi; devoted grandmother of Lisa Hofschulz, Bradford, Peter and Jennifer Baumann; Great Grandmother of Haley, Hanna, Mitchell and Madison Baumann.
Born in San Francisco in North Beach on August 27, 1909, the daughter of Amadeo & Columbia Orlandi. Dorothy graduated from Commerce High Scholl and Heald Business College. She worked at the Equitable Live Insurance Company on Montgomery St. for several years.
Dorothy met and married the love of her life, John Dall, in 1931. John was a Danish gentleman who had immigrated to San Francisco and began a successful home building and contracting business. Dorothy & John conducted the business together and led an active social life. They retired to Los Altos in 1960 to be near their daughter and her growing family. Dorothy was a member of the Los Altos Garden Club and one of the original members of the Villa Siena Auxiliary.
In 1996 Dorothy moved to Villa Siena, a retirement home operated by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul and she remained active until the time of her death.
Dorothy loved café mocha at Starbucks, dancing, parties, being with her family and friends and a well mixed Manhattan
A Graveside service will be held on Wed. Feb 4, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thurs. Feb. 12, 2004 at 9:30 A.M. at Villa Siena Retirement Home, 1855 Miramonte Ave., Mtn.View. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to the Villa Siena Foundation, 1855 Miramonte Ave., Mtn.View, CA 94040. Arrangements by Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, Mtn. View.
