BERTHA ONTIVEROS MUNOZ
CARLSBAD--Bertha Ontiveros "Mom" Munoz, 64, of Caesar Road, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at her home.
She will be in state at 9 a.m. today at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in the chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Noel Kramer officiating.
Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.
Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Marfa, Texas, to Fidel and Pilar Compos Ontiveros. She was raised in Marfa.
She was married to Julian G. Fuentes, Sr. for 17 years. She married Luis Munoz in November 1970.
Mrs. Munoz worked as caregiver for many health care agencies in Carlsbad. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Luis of Carlsbad; sons, Julian O. Fuentes Jr. and Frank O. Fuentes, both of Carlsbad, David O. Fuentes of Berlin, Germany, and Ralph Ontiveros of Grants; daughters, Mary Grace Gomez of Pomona, Calif., Betty F. Moreno of Carlsbad, Lupe O. Fuentes of Albuquerque, and Monica Mendoza of Odessa; mother, Pilar Compos of Carlsbad; sisters, Esmida Aguilar of San Jose, Calif., Josie Dominguez of Carlsbad; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are David A. Fuentes, Frank O. Fuentes Jr., Frank O. Fuentes Sr., Julian O. Fuentes Jr., Julian P. Fuentes III, David F. Mendoza Jr. and Ralph Ontiveros.
