He married Betty Jane Frailey in 1950. They later divorced, and she also preceded him in death.
A daughter, Cynthia Ondes, a brother Clarence, and a grandson Chad Ondes also preceded him in death.
Chuck served in the United States Air Force during WW II as a gunner of a B24. He flew 26 missions over Germany and received a purple heart.
He retired in 1986 from the Painter's local #9. He spent most of his career with G.H. Schambacher & Son. He painted and decorated many church's though out the midwest.
Surviving are his daughter, Janice Hardimon, a son Robert "Bob" (wife Patty) Ondes, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, two brothers, Wilbur Ondes and Melvin (wife Maureen) Ondes, a sister, Joyce (husband Richard) Ficker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
