Gloria M. Knippenberg Bloom (Olszewski) Age 72, late of Homer Glen, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home after a six year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Chicago, life long area resident. Gloria was a volunteer at the Crisis Line of Will County for 32 years. Gloria was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a wonderful friend to many. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, was an avid reader, game player, gourmet cook and she loved to travel. Preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Knippenberg, her parents Clement and Bernice (Fryer) Olszewski, a brother and a sister. Survived by her husband Dennis Bloom, her children Kim (Tom) Targosz, Kirk (Wanda) Knippenberg, Donald (Jenni) Knippenberg, Julie (Dave) Drake and Karen (Justin) Holland, grandchildren Bryan, Scott, Craig, Danielle, Katie, Alexa, Jacob, Kylie, Hannah, Jessia, Devin, Dylan and Austin, three brothers, two sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends also survive. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Crisis Line of Will Co, P.O. Box 2354, Joliet, IL 60434 or St. Dennis Church, Lockport would be appreciated. Gloria will lie in state Friday, 9:00 am at St. Dennis Church, 1214 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, to 10:45 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
