Kenneth served as a First Lieutenant on B-24D #41-24269, 400th Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Beltrami County, Minnesota prior to the war.

B-24D #41-24269 took off from 5 Mile Drome near Port Moresby, Papua, New Guinea on a reconnaissance mission along the eastern coast of New Guinea. They were attacked by five Japanese Ki-43 Oscars. One of the Oscars, piloted by Sgt. Hikoto Sato, rammed them. Their last message sent stated the aircraft was going down. It is believed the aircraft went down in the vicinity of Karkar Island. No trace of the crew was ever found.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
