Karen loved traveling and had some fun family trips with her children, brother and sister. She loved the outdoors, going on rides to the Utah west desert and to the cabin in the mountains. She spent many hours sketching the scenery. She loved family picnics in the canyons. She took fun bus trips to Elko with her daughters. She worked at Wangsgards Market for 25 years and really enjoyed her job. Karen lived in Pleasant View for 45 years and loved her friends and neighbors. She was member of the LDS Pleasant View 4th Ward.
She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was very proud of her pioneer heritage and to be a great- granddaughter to John Moses and Rachel Child Browning.
She has nine grandchildren, April (Randy) Jones, Kris (Stephanie) Chatelain, , Zakary (April) Taylor, Kate Cardon, Rosmary Taylor, Toni (Jake) Carroll, Megan Cardon, Tamra Ray, and Carson Shaw. She has 8 great grandchildren.
Her family was always her first priority. We will always remember her kindness to others and her happy disposition. She was a person who never said a bad thing about anyone or anything. She was generous to a fault and always wanted to help anyone who needed it. She showed us all how people should be. She was the best Mom, Grandma and sister that anyone could have and we are proud and honored to be her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her ex- husband Keith. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, brother and sister and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
The family wants to thank her dear friends Carla Wade, Donna Carver and Jean Bishoff , and IHC Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 10, 2009 at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
