Andrine was born to Ole Larson and Anne Dorthea Engebrectsdatter on the farm Åmundrud in the Nannestad parish. In April 1869 the family left Norway and arrived in New York on May 17. They were ticketed to La Crosse, WI. From New York they traveled to La Crosse and then on to Norway Township, Fillmore County, MN where they settled for around a year. In December 1870 Andrine's father bought land in Yucatan Township, Houston County and moved the family there.

In June 1873 Andrine married her cousin and previous neighbor in Norway, Bernt Olson. Together they had ten children: Olaus (Ole), Josephine, Inga Maria, Lars (Lewis), Nels Oscar, Ida, Laura, Emma, Hilda and Tina (died at birth).

By 1895 Andrine and Bernt had moved to Houston where he later died.

She and her brother then purchased a home in 1909 in the Brooklyn suburb of Rushford, MN and lived there until they sold the home to her son, Olaus, in 1926. Most likely she remained in the house until her death.

Andrine's children all went by the last name of Benson (sons of Bernt per standard Norwegian naming practice) and after her husband died, she also changed her name to Benson. The Åmundrud farm name, typically used in early church records, is no longer used in our family as the use of the Benson name is continued into the present generation.
