Mrs. Isabelle Drewes died at her home in Hewittville yesterday afternoon at three o’clock after an illness of nearly four years with tuberculosis. She has been on a gradual decline for many months but has been bedfast but the past week.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning from the Baptist Church with Rev. R. H. Claxon officiating. Burial will then be made in the Anderson Cemetery near Clarksdale where the body of her deceased husband lies.
Mrs. Isabelle Oller was born August 20, 1870, in Johnson Township, the eldest of a family of thirteen children born to Moses Oller and Aca Parrill now residents of Hewittville.
She was married 22 years ago to August Drewes in Taylorville and they moved to a farm in Greenwood Township. They continued to live as farmers over the county, until the death of the husband 12 years ago last June.
At the death of her husband, Mrs. Drewes purchased a small farm in Johnson Township where she with her children continued to reside until a year ago when they came to Hewittville.
Four children were born to their union, twins, Vernon, at home, and Henry, now deceased; Dena, who was married two weeks ago to Sylvia Rutherford, of near Owaneco and Harry, aged 13, at home.
The following brothers and sisters also survive, John, Moses Oller Jr., of Johnson Township, William Wesley and Oral of Hewittville, Mrs. Delana Peden of this city, Mrs. Bessie Brewer of Ray, Kansas, and Mrs. Effie Moses of Marlette, Michigan.
She has been a member of the United Brethren Church for many years and also held a membership in the Court of Honor.
