Jack's service and memory are honored by a marker on the Memorial Wall at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Solano County, California

March 30, 1921 - July 22, 2010
Jack Oller, 89, was born in Branford, Conn., moving to Oakland, Calif., in 1929 with his family, Anna and Cecil Oller, and brother, Maurice Paul (Bud). He was a 1939 graduate of Castlemont High School.

From 1942-45, he served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer in Europe. In 1978, he retired from the Solano County Sheriff Department with the rank of lieutenant.

He was loved and treasured by his wife of 61 years, Emma M. (Amy); daughter, Susan (Gary) Pettigrew of Benicia; granddaughters, Melissa Moore-Pettigrew and Carrie (David) Wenslawski; adored great granddaughters, Jocelyn and Kaitlin Wenslawski, and Marcella Ramos; and recent grandson, Kolby Cooper. "GG Jack" was truly the best great-grandpa ever.

Special appreciation to Kaiser Hospice and the Mendoza Family Care Home No. 3, especially to Maria Rivera and Josephine Mendoza.

No services will be held at his request. Donations may be made to Vallejo Elks Lodge No. 559, 2850 Redwood Parkway, Vallejo, CA 94591 or Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, CA 94589.

Arrangements by Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.
