dies; funeral
set Tuesday
Amos Lambert Oller, 73, of 501 Clayton Avenue, retired Landis Tool Company sales engineer, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Waynesboro Hospital.
He had been hospitalized since February, first in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
He was born in Waynesboro, July 14, 1892, son of the late Amos Lincoln and Susan Mary (Saylor) Oller.
A former town councilman, he also served as a member of the Waynesboro Borough Authority and for a number of years was a member of the borough's Police Civil Service Commission.
He was at one time employed by Kraiss Coach Shop as a blacksmith, finishing buggies and wagons.
He began his employment with Landis Tool in 1907 in the engineering department and was trained in the factory until 1911.
He and the late S. W. Mathias were then employed by the Bathe Grinding Company, Fitchburg, Mass. He returned to Landis Tool, January 1, 1913 as supervisor and later in charge of sales engineer.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and served as a member of the Official Board. He was also a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Mr. Oller was a pastmaster of Acacia Lodge No. 586, F & A.M., a past officer of King David Commandery, Knights of Malta, and the Order of Odd Fellows.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Delta Manherz Oller; a brother, Franklin L. Oller, Chambersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Gonder, Blue Ridge Summit, and Miss Marj Oller, Harrisburg.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. D. Perry Bucke. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
There will be no viewing. It was his request that flowers be omitted.
