Climaco was the son of Juan de Jesus Olivas and Carmela Bustos.

On 5 June 1917, Climaco Olivas (B: 1 Aug 1894, Llano de Santa Cruz), a resident of Chamita, registered for the WWI Draft. He was described as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, black hair, and a laborer for Pagosa Lumber Company in Dulce, New Mexico. He claimed exemption from the draft because he had orphaned sisters that were dependent on him (WWI Draft Card).

Climaco served in the US Army during World War I from 27 May 1918 to 8 Dec 1918.

Climaco and his wife Apolonia M. had an identified daughter named Florida Olivas.
