Birth: Jan. 24, 1924
Death: Apr. 26, 2006

Juanita passed away at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA, with her family at her side.

Born in Temosachic, Chihuahua, Mexico, Juanita relocated with her husband from Las Cruces, NM to Merced County in 1968, where they settled and raised their seven children.

A devoted daughter, she, her husband, and their children made regular annual visits to her parents and relatives in Mexico.

Juanita was the heart and soul of her family, and as a mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was seeing to it that everyone was happy.

A highly regarded cook and seamstress, she produced many beautiful and unique bedspreads, pillowcases and quilts for her family on her trusty Singer sewing machine.

She enjoyed growing flowers and spent time caring for them. After her children, one of Juanita's proudest achievements was becoming a U.S. citizen late in life, and she was always ready to exercise her voting privileges.

Juanita was the guiding light of her family's hearts. She will always be missed and will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Flores in 1977; her parents, Elijio Olivas and Antonia Olivas Trevizo; and her brothers, Elias and Reymundo Olivas.

Juanita is survived by her seven children, Maura Arzamendi and her husband Fred, and children Lisa and Judy of Merced, Sergio Flores and his wife Sheila, and children Veronica, Donovan, Natalie, and Gregory of Merced, Jesse Flores and his wife Melissa, and children Brooke, and Jared of Fresno, Sandra Klomp her husband Brad, and son David of Fresno, Blanca Alarcon and her husband Al, and daughters Yvette, India, and Elizabeth of Clovis, Dina Flores of Fresno, and John Flores of Clovis.

She is also survived by her only sister, Petra Olivas-Rascon; and her sister-in-law, Dionisia Lozano-Olivas both of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Visitation will be held at Farewell on Monday, May 1, 2006, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 355 Champlain Dr. in Fresno on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Clovis Cemetery.
