Eloise was the daughter of Bennett and Opal Oden. Eloise had two brothers and two sisters who have preceded her in death. Music filled her life at an early age as she traveled with her family to Stamps Baxter music conventions. As an adult, when she wasn't singing in the church choir she traveled and entertained with close friends from church called the "Grinder Switch Bells", providing down home gospel music and comedy all over East Texas.
Eloise and Burt volunteered at the East Texas Food Bank supported by Oakland Heights Baptist Church. Both were active in a prayer group of close Christian friends from Oakland Heights. In 2002, Eloise and Burt moved to Tyler where they became members of Green Acres Baptist Church. It was there she became a Care Giver to Burt who struggled with Alzheimer's until his death in 2010.
Eloise was a resident of Briarcliff Health Center for the last three years of her life where she modeled the love of Christ to everyone she met. Eloise was a constant source of encouragement to the staff of Briarcliff and prided herself in being the best bingo winner of the center.
