MOUNT WOLF Marie Yvonne (Oberlander) Flaharty, 68, had the angels welcome her to heaven on Sunday, August 28, 2005. She was the wife of Donald E. Flaharty. The couple celebrated their 31st anniversary on July 7, 2005.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, at the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Flaharty was born in York on October 11, 1936, a daughter of the late John W. and Lillie May (Kline) Oberlander.
She retired from York Garment Company after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Flaharty leaves three daughters, Nicole Flaharty of Manchester, Cheryl Flaharty of Red Lion, and Tammy Flaharty of Maryland; two sons, Rodney Lee Smith of Mt. Wolf, and Donald Flaharty, Jr. of York; three grandchildren, Keiana Kraft, Ambre Benedict, and Jason Sangrey; and three sisters, Pauline Foller, Delores Knaub, and Gladys Gohn, all of York. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Barbara May Sangrey, who was a twin of Rodney; five brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Red Lion, 2 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
