Althea Veronica (O'Hara) Anderson, Althea Anderson died of natural causes on July 12, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Commander, United States Navy (Retired) Robert W. Anderson.
She was the daughter of deceased parents, Sarah and Thomas O'Hara.
Althea is survived by her sons, Thomas Miles of Houston, Texas, and Robert William, Jr., of Indianapolis and their wives, Brenda and Susan.
She had five grandchildren, Thomas, Jr., Deborah, Nicolas, Seth and Kirk Anderson; and four great grandchildren, Brandon, Riley, Ellie and Brody Anderson.
Born on January 13, 1922, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Althea attended Butler University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and where she met the love of her life and soon married Andy.
Much of their lives were spent in the Navy traveling throughout the United States (15 different duty stations in 25 years) and the Philippines while raising their two sons. Althea often said that she loved the life of being a Naval Officer's wife.
Commander and Mrs. Anderson returned to Indianapolis after he retired from the Navy, and she began work for Burns Construction for several years. Althea spent much of her life raising her children and was the consummate Team Mom through many sports and activities of her two boys. She loved her family and her friends and enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, the theater and traveling.
