Services for Ruby Earlene Kennedy, 89, of Brownfield will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 15, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery in Denver City under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Ruby passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in Brownfield. She was born May 29, 1919 in Celeste, Texas to Robert and Virgie O'Dell. She graduated from Meadow High School in 1937. She married W. C. Kennedy, Jr. on June 25, 1937 in Wilson, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1995. They lived in Denver City for 44 years before she moved to Brownfield in 2002. Ruby enjoyed bowling and played softball until she was 55 years of age. She was a member of a Bridge Club, the XYZ Club, Pink Ladies in Denver City and Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield.

Ruby is survived by her two sons, and a daughter :six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
