Patricia O'Brien Kester, 84, long time resident of Sterling, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, in Denver of natural causes. Visitation is until 7 p.m. today, Aug. 26, at Tennant Funeral Home, with a vigil and rosary to begin at 7 p.m., also at Tennant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 .m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Very Rev. James Baird officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Sterling.
Patricia was born July 6, 1918, to Hugh O'Brien and Georgianna (Roe) O'Brien in Benkelman, Neb. She attended school in Fleming and graduating 1936.
On Feb. 11, 1938, she married Lewis H. Kester at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
She was a member of St.Anthony Catholic Church in Sterling. She was an active supporter of 4-H, and a former member of GNI Club.
Patricia is survived by daughters Joan L. Harley and Kathleen Blakeslee; sons L.James Kester and Daniel B.Kester; grandchildren Donna Jean Kaehr, Georgi Hormel,Caroline Yorks, Beth Harley,Rebecca Harley, Lennie Blakeslee, Patricia Hartung,Melissa Davis, Rick Kester and Mike Kester; step-great-grand children Marissa Seeley and Dominic Chandler; and great- grandchildren Alexander Zane, Skyler Kaeher, Courtney LaCava, Caleb and Toby Yorks,Brien, James, Patrick, David,
Joseph, Frank, Elisabeth,Georgianna Hartung, Peter,Brien Kester, Logan and Reilly Blakeslee. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis H. Kester; sons Raymond D. Kester and Frank M. Kester; six brothers and five sisters.Memorial contributions may be made to Life Source Hospice, Lakewood, Colorado and Diabetes Foundation.
