Frances Marie Bignardi
Died peacefully at home attended by family on July 17, 2014 due to complications following a recent stroke. A third generation native San Franciscan, Frances was born on August 22, 1928 to the late John and the late Eulelia O'Brien. Up until late 2013, she lived in Pacifica with her brother. She moved to San Pedro (in Los Angeles) in October 2013. She was predeceased in death by her husband William Avelino Bignardi, her brother Jack O'Brien and her brother-in-law Aldo Bignardi. She is survived by her daughters: Michele Bignardi (Philip Nicolay), Pamela Bignardi, Sandra Sabins (Todd) and Melynda Sassenberg; grandchildren: Reema, Rana, Anthony, Erica, Gianna, Cynthia, Dominque, Briana and Kiley; and the newest family addition, great-grandson William Avelino. She is also survived by her devoted cousin LaVerne Flonteny. The family would also like to recognize and thank her caregiver of the last several months, Carmen Gituku, whose attention and positive spirit provided mom with the opportunity to remain in her home for as long as possible.
Friends and family are invited to services on Thursday, July 31, 2014 with visitation from 9:30 – 10:30 am and services to begin at 10:30 am at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City and internment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation, 1300 W 7th St, San Pedro, CA 90732 in recognition of the extraordinary care and support provided by all hospital staff during the past several months or to the charity of your choice .
