Mrs. Eva Chilton, 79, died at her home in this city Sunday, January 27, and funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. C.R. Gortner officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Mrs. Chilton was born February 10, 1877, at Coldwater, Mo., the daughter of J.W. and Priscilla O'Bannon. In August, 1898, in Brunot, Mo., she was married to John Chilton and the family moved to Braggadocio in 1912, living there for many years. Mr. Chilton died in 1923 and also three of their eight children have passed away.
She is survived by three sons, Paul Chilton of Braggadocio, Ewing Chilton of Warren, Texas and Ben Chilton of New Hartford, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Chip Franklin, Snow Lake, Ark. and Mrs. Jane Moore, Danville, Ill.; one sister, Hattie Palu, Dallas, Texas; six brothers, W.W., Frank, Claude, Everett, J.B. and Fred O'Bannon; 22 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
