The USS O'Flaherty, was named in his honor. His sister, Lavada M. O'Flaherty, was designated by the Secretary of the Navy to christen the vessel in honor of her brother.

This marker at Mt. Moriah is a cenotaph as Frank is buried at sea. He shares the marker with his cousin, Joe Lamb.
