Mrs. John Vogel, 77, Dexter Rt. 1, Minn., died Sunday evening, March 17, at the Fieldcrest Nursing Home, Hayfield, where she had been a patient the past two years. She had been in poor health the past two years.
The former Frances M. Nutz was born in Batzdorf, Austria, Jan. 25, 1897, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatz Nutz. Mrs. Vogel came to the U.S. and the state of Iowa in the spring of 1921 and was married to John Vogel at Rockwell City, Iowa, in the fall of 1921. They settled on their farm, north of Dexter, in Grand Meadow Township, Mower County, Minn., where she spent her entire married life until her illness.
She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Johnny of New Ulm, Minn.,one daughter, Mrs. Val (Ella) Schneider, Adams, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, here and abroad.
Services were held at United Methodist Church, Dexter, Wednesday, March 20, 1974, at 1:30 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Walter Flesner. The organist was Mrs. Merton Root and soloist, Mrs. Walter Flesner.
Pallbearers were Daryl and Donald Vogel, Bud Howe, Melvin Schneider, Dale Rossow, Stanley Monnier. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.
