SPRINGFIELD - Doris D. (Novack) Hersh, 82, formerly of 50 Aldrew Ter., died Friday at a local nursing home. Born in Russia, she lived most of her life in Springfield. She had worked at the former Albert Stegier Co. for many years. Doris was a member of Sinai Temple, Sixteen Acres Branch of the Golden Age Club, Chic-mates Square Dance Club, Western Mass. Co-op Square Dance Club, Highlighters Square Dance Club, co-chairperson of the New England Square Dance convention in Springfield in 1991, and she also performed with the Classic Heritage Dancers. Doris was also a member of Mended Hearts and the Jewish War Veteran woman's auxiliary. Doris was married to Clarence Hersh, who died in 1993. She leaves 3 sons, Harry of Natick, Lawrence of Nashua, NH, and Joel of Leominster; a daughter, Sandra Lotterman of Agawam; a sister, Minnie Goldenberg of W. Hartford, CT; 7 grandchildren &1 great-grandchild. The funeral will be Sunday at noon at Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel with burial in City of Homes Cemetery. Shiva will be Monday & Tuesday at Sinai Temple Library with 7 p.m. services. Donations can be made to Jewish Geriatric Services, 770 Congress St., Longmeadow, MA 01106.
