Last will and testament probated on May 25, 1848 wherein he leaves his property to his wife Rachel with the following exceptions. He leaves one cow, one bed and bedding and six head of sheep to his daughter Sally Jones Norvell and the same to Ally Nicholas Norvell and also Elizabeth Granger Norvell. Then he directs that upon the death of his wife Rachel that all property be divided equally among his children Mary Ann Black, Thomas J. Norvell, Alley N. Norvell, Elizabeth Granger Norvell except $50 that he gave his son James in his lifetime. He goes on to give his son John C. Norvell land and $125.
