Janet Rose Allen, 65, passed away at her home in Sayre on Monday, July 8, 2013. Janet was born in Monroeton, Pa. on June 8, 1948, the daughter of Boyce and Marion Benjamin Northrup. She worked for Global Tungsten Powders, formerly OSRAM Sylvania, for nearly 15 years before her retirement in 2010.
Janet loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed music and her pet birds.
Janet is survived by her mother Marion Northrup; children Darla Karabka and Robert Allen; grandchildren Jessica Edwards, Chelsea Brenner, Joshua Edwards, Victor Karabka, Trinity Allen, Isaiah Karabka, and Zachary Allen; sisters Sylvia Johnson of Monroeton, Nancy Kellock of Wysox and Vickie Shedden of Monroeton; brothers Timothy Northrup of Monroeton and Boyce Northrup Jr. of Monroeton; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janet is preceded in death by her father Boyce Northrup Sr.; grandmother Minnie Northrup; son John Robare; and brother Dean Northrup.
