Dorothy Louise Northern, 80, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Phil Mercado officiating.
Mrs. Northern was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Amarillo to George Washington Smith and Leola Mott Smith. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as an executive secretary at Pantex and also at Southwestern Public Service for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Northern was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Velda Jeanne Northern; and a sister, Betty Willie.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Northern, Van Northern and wife Kathy, all of Amarillo, and Rex Northern and wife Roben of Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Charles Willie of Amarillo; two nieces, L.J. Mitchell and Charla Frieze, both of Amarillo; two nephews, Kenneth Willie of Amarillo and David Willie of Austin; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Ericka, Mark, Steven, Daniel, Jennifer, Lauren, Chresta, Wendy and Lindsay; 12 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Gene and Pat Bartlett of Amarillo, Barbara Northern of Bakersfield and Carol Hodges of Amarillo.
