Mother Ceola "Nippy" Graves, age 79, of Evansville, IN was born December 12, 1934 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the union of Earsley and Will Northern. Ceola quietly transitioned from this life to glory on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 with her family members by her side.
Ceola was an active member of the Liberty Baptist Church where she served as a "Mother of the church" for over 35 years. Secretary of the Mother's Board and a member of the Women's Missionary Union; and for many years, chaired the "Back Home Celebration" committee, was a faithful Sunday School member and always attended Vacation Bible School.
She was employed by CAPE for over 30 years and recently as a Foster Grandparent with Child's Paradise. She enjoyed playing BINGO as a hobby.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters, Bettye Jean McKenzie and Charlotte Faye Graves; 7 sons: Jesse and Chester Graves, D. Maurice Griffin, Kenneth B. Graves (Tammy), Edward L. Griffin, Charles Graves,Jr. (Stephanie), James Graves (Gabrielle); one brother, Ronnie J. Hardin; two sisters: Annie Pearl Dozier Jones and Paulette Harvey; two sisters-in-law: Ruby Wisdom and Nelda Smith; two brothers-in-law: Clarence Tobin and Elder Richard K. Tobin (Pauline); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:30pm at Liberty Baptist Church. The Rev. Todd Robertson, officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00pm - 5:00pm Thursday at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel and from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the church.
